Jim DeRolf is the co-founder of The Outward Olive. He built the business with his wife, Kristina DeRolf, and their daughters, from a farmers market table in 2020 to the tasting room on North Main Street in Crown Point, Indiana.
Before The Outward Olive
A life of service
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force, then worked alongside his father in the steel mills in the early years of his marriage to Kristina. He went on to become a police officer and served until he retired to run The Outward Olive full time.
What he leads
Operations and corporate gifting
Jim leads operations and our corporate and realtor gifting. He works with businesses on holiday client gifts, team gifts, and closing gifts, so every order arrives on time and feels personal.
At the table
Low and slow
Jim loves meats and grilling. He makes his own beef jerky from scratch, and you will usually find him at his smoker, grill, dehydrator, or air fryer. For him, the best part is the process: trimming the meat, marinating and seasoning, and timing a good meal. It is slow, careful work, and it shows at the table.
