The Art of Giving: Ornament Workshop & Sweet Pairings with Outside the Lines

The best gifts are the ones someone made with you in mind. On Sunday, December 6, we're spending an afternoon making them together.

We've teamed up with sisters Kelly Calton and Renee Wells of [Outside the Lines Painting and Crafts] for an afternoon that brings together four things we love: art, pairing, sweets and gifting.

Meet Outside the Lines

Kelly and Renee discovered pour painting on YouTube in 2015. Kelly brought a background in graphic design, Renee brought a lifelong love of crafts, and they were hooked. What started as sharing it with family and friends grew into a business.

Along the way they added lasers for wooden door rounds and other projects, then 3D printers and a line called Fillables. Today, from a bigger studio, they offer workshops, DIY kits, finished pieces and custom promotional items, all built around helping people find their own creativity.

We met Kelly and Renee at the Crown Point Farmers Market, where their booth sat right next to ours. Market neighbors became friends, and Kelly became a customer. When she sent us her recipe for [Blueberry Balsamic Spice Cupcakes], made with our Lush Orchard Fruit Balsamic, the conversation that followed turned into this afternoon.

The afternoon

Make an ornament. Kelly and Renee guide you through designing a keepsake ornament for your own tree or to wrap for someone else's. No experience needed.

Taste sweet pairings. We pair extra virgin olive oils and balsamics with desserts, sweet and savory side by side, so you can see how far one bottle goes.

Give beautifully. Leave with your ornament and ideas for everyone on your list. The tasting room is open for holiday shopping throughout.
